Power & Place — Grade 11

Grade 11 picks up where Grade 10 leaves off: once students have named the systems that shape a place, they examine what it costs — and what it makes possible — to act inside those systems. Through narratives spanning postcolonial India, post-apartheid South Africa, the Caribbean diaspora, and the contemporary American lyric, students wrestle with citizenship, complicity, repair, and the language of witness.
